Job Description

Title: Senior IT Operations Support Specialist

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide IT support for internal users of Rolls-Royce Solutions America IT systems via phone, email, and other remote support utilities using all available tools and resources

  • Provide 2nd level end user support for user administration, general systems access, client devices, software, and applications, and when necessary, provide assistance to other 2nd and 3rd level supporters for troubleshooting
  • Provide 2nd level support for all telecommunication, network, and server hardware & systems, and when necessary, provide assistance to other 2nd and 3rd level supporters for troubleshooting
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and installation of end user client devices such as PCs, PC peripherals or accessories, printers, handheld mobile devices, bar code scanners, desk phones, and any other device that end users interact with
  • Preserve and enforce the company’s IT policies and procedures and follows IT processes through the use of local work instructions
  • Use corporate IT service desk system to create/update tickets for all incidents and service requests, including documentation of all communication transactions and remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and global members of the Rolls Royce Power Systems IT organization to continuously improve service levels and advance the collective knowledge base
  • Work with local contractors to complete tasks such as installation and troubleshooting of IT equipment
  • Provide 2nd level support for Voice over IP (VoIP) systems, and when necessary, provide assistance to other 2nd and 3rd level supporters for troubleshooting
  • Manage and maintain IT assets and inventory using internal asset management tools
  • Participate in large scale equipment moves and technology refreshes
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering or Science and 5 years experience providing IT support in an manufacturing organization with a diverse landscape of hardware, software, and applications; or 9 years of experience in providing IT support in an organization with a diverse landscape of hardware, software, and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience with Microsoft operating systems and office productivity products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong ability to work effectively and efficiently in a global support model with a large multi-national user base
  • Strong ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Good ability to quickly gather facts, analyze problems, and provide root cause solutions
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to work overtime with short notice
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 lbs without mechanical assistance

Work Environment:

D aily work is performed in an assembly facility. This position has a traditional work schedule (Monday – Friday) that requires 100% on-site presence. Will need to be flexible if asked to work an off shift.
